Where have I been

June 17th, 2012

Well apart from working we have been building trolleys for the two race cars so I can reorganise the workshop.

Each is made to suit the requirements of a particular car and will support trays. spares and jigs as needed.

They are pretty substantial devices as seen here unlike our lightweight gear for work at the track.

Bowin P4 and P6 Formula Ford bodywork

March 14th, 2012

We are preparing to do a run of fibreglass bodywork for the two Bowin Formula Ford cars. This will only happen every couple of years so if you have a need now or are likely to in the future please contact us ASAP. We can supply all panels for both cars from the original molds. Please contact Ian on bowinparts@petersracing.com

FVA is here

September 20th, 2011

The Bowin P3 tub and the original FVA number 7044 were last in the same place in 1970. It’s a huge thing to see them both in the same place again. Many thanks to Graham Brown for selling it to me and for the awesome rebuild. It really is very pretty. Now we need a new diff for the car and to start assembling it.

This engine was issued to Piers Courage for the 1968 Tasman series in Australia and purchased by Glyn Scott at the end of the series for fitment to the new Bowin FVA. The original specification was minimum 231 BHP at 9000 RPM with a 10500 RPM redline from 1600cc,

!0 years ago we were on our way to Winton holding a narrow lead in the Silver Star. We won it on the 10th Septempber 2001. Our press releases were going to go out on the 11th but no-one cared about sport that day.

Bowin Cars

August 25th, 2011

Peters Racing has taken control of all the patterns, spares and fibreglass molds used by Bowin to build the 50plus race cars including our P3 in the 60s and 70s. They are currently being shipped to Adelaide. Pretty exciting stuff and we look forward to supporting the other people running cars as well as finishing our own.
